Safe on the water – responsibility and awareness in recreation and motorboat sports
Speaker: Paweł Błasiak
11.10.2025, 12:30 PM
We invite you to a unique meeting with a man who has been shaping water safety in Poland for nearly four decades. Paweł Błasiak has been involved with the Wodne Ochotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe (WOPR – Volunteer Water Rescue Service) since 1986. He has gone through all the rescue ranks in the organization – from lifeguard, to instructor (since 1992), and eventually to lecturer instructor (since 2016). Since 2008 he has been a member of the WOPR National Board, and since 2019 he has served as President of the National Board.
His experience also extends to public service: he served for 20 years as an officer of the Biuro Ochrony Rządu (Government Protection Bureau), and then for a decade headed the Department of Security and Crisis Management at the Mazowiecki Urząd Wojewódzki (Mazovian Voivodeship Office). He is also an instructor at the International Life Saving Federation (ILS).
During his lecture, he will share his extensive knowledge and experience, presenting the key principles of responsible and conscious use of water bodies and participation in motor water sports. It will be an excellent opportunity to learn how to take care of your own safety and that of others while enjoying time by the water.
